According to the CIA World Factbook, Costa Rica has a population of 4,133,884 of which 94% are Mestizo or white, 3% black, 1% Amerindian, 1% chinese and 1% other.

Location
Central American isthmus, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama east southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west and south, and the Caribbean sea to the east.
Costa Rica has no army since it was constitutionally abolished in 1949. It has been blessed with a consolidated system of protected areas, high educational levels, political stability and a legacy of peace and democracy. Costa Rican people are commonly known as "ticos".
Costa Rica is one of the world eco tourist hot spots because of the countries richness in biodiversity (it contains 5 per cent of the worlds biodiversity), oceans, beautiful beaches, rivers, mountains, volcanoes, and an abundance of flora and fauna.
